Phillies sign reliever Parker

The Philadelphia Phillies signed right-hander Blake Parker to a major league contract Tuesday. Parker was added to the team's roster and was available for the team's night game against the San Francisco Giants. The Minnesota Twins designated the 34-year-old reliever for assignment last week, and he opted for free agency rather than reporting to Triple-A Rochester.
