D-backs hope to ride Marte past Giants

The Arizona Diamondbacks are eager to see two things: a team other than the Colorado Rockies, and Ketel Marte at the plate. Arizona, coming off a three-game sweep at the hands of the visiting Rockies, opens a three-game series in Phoenix on Friday against the San Francisco Giants. The D-backs have lost eight of 10 games overall to Colorado, including a 6-4 defeat on Thursday, when they blew a 4-3 lead in the ninth before falling in the 10th.
