As the 2019 baseball season opens, it is the beginning of the end of an era for the San Francisco Giants after manager Bruce Bochy announced it would be his final campaign at the helm of the club. The 63-year-old will finish off his 13th season managing the Giants, and the home slate of the schedule started with an emotional moment for Bochy, who received a lengthy standing ovation from the Oracle Park crowd as he emerged from the dugout during pregame introductions. Bochy stood to the third-base side of home plate for awhile, repeatedly tipping his cap, waving to the crowd and soaking in the two-minute long applause as even the Tampa Bay Rays joined in.
