Gorkys Hernandez coaxed a bases-loaded walk from Colorado reliever Adam Ottavino to break an eighth-inning tie Tuesday night and lift the Giants to a 3-2 victory at AT&T Park. Desmond homered to open the scoring in the second inning before Hernandez ignited the Giants' offense one inning later with his 10th homer of the season. Both starters pitched effectively. San Francisco's Derek Holland surrendered one run and six hits in a season-high 6 2/3 innings. Colorado's Chad Bettis was charged with two runs and six hits in 6 1/3 innings.
