PHOENIX – The Giants' original rotation this season had Jake Peavy second and Tim Hudson fourth. Manager Bruce Bochy and pitching coach Dave Righetti wanted to separate the pair because they pitch so much alike and wanted someone with a different style (Matt Cain) in-between.
