It sounds like a paradox, but the Giants' decision to demote Eric Surkamp to the minors after last night's game is actually a vote of confidence. Manager Bruce Bochy said Surkamp will rejoin the rotation in San Diego on Sept. 6 but want him to make one start in the minors between now and then....
