Will the Lakers Repeat?
Will they resign Odom?
Will Artest be able to stay in check?
Talk about everything Lakers in this thread

If Artest can keep his cool then the Lakers have a solid pick up

Fasho. I think he will keep his cool. We have a pretty strong locker room figure in Kobe. Phil was able to handle Rodman also. And if LO comes back, they are good friends. Everything is usually good when you're winning. Minus the whole Shaq ****.

if all that happens I can see a repeat with the lakers, even though I hate the lakers they do have a good team.

I despise the Lakers with every ounce of my being, but if you guys get Odom back, there's no point even watching this NBA season. Game over.
However, if you don't...I'm not sure swapping Odom and Ariza for Artest works out in your favor. That would certainly make things more interesting.

I was actually hoping that the Cavs would pick up Ariza but he got snatched up

Me too, and I really feel like Ariza will be a disappointment next year. I think his numbers and worth were inflated by the fact that he played with Kobe and the best team in the league, and he'll be in for a rude awakening on a Yao-less, Artest-less, and potentially TMac-less Rockets, where he'll likely be asked to be a top 3 option.

Agree with you Corn. Ariza's agent really messed up. I laughed hard though when Ariza rejected Lebron and told people that Lebron was saying that he'd stay past 2010 then Lebron came out and said "No I didn't say that". Free agents don't trust him.

unless there are some huge aquisitions in Cleveland I don't see Lebron staying

Cleveland has tried pretty hard to keep him around and build a team around him. This offseason it was a bit more difficult because he's a FA in 2010 and no one wants to go there if he's not around next year. If he extended his contract (the cavs have tried to extend him), then I think the FAs interest would go up a little. I have no idea why he would go to New York or NJ though. Their situations are not much better.

And the lure of playing for a "big name team" (Knicks, Celtics, Lakers), and making a legacy with one of these teams. Not saying I agree with this (I don't, I'd love to see him stay with a small market team and succeed), but this is inevitably a factor as well.

Plus Cleveland sucks as a city in general. The entire city is in shambles
