ill take holiday
Hellllll no. Expiring contract, he's been horrible all year, IMO doesn't have the extra oomph to get power numbers in this park...hellll no.

Can anyone tell me why on earth are the Blue Jays trading away Halladay? is he not happy there?

They know they can't realistically resign him so they are trying to get value while they can.

I'm not sure thats the only reason. He is not a FA next year and they would still have him in 2010. I really think the bigger reason is that the Blue Jays know that they are not contenders now with Doc. They realize that they need to get a lot of young talent that can contend in the next several years. If they can get a windfall of talent then it makes sense to make the deal.
is the lorache deal the only trade so far?
I think with Halladay one of the things the Jays are looking at, is that he is up for renewal after 2010 and at 35 (then) he has the most trade value NOW. The contract $$$ will be huge for the next one for him.
holliday is heating up. his price has probably been going up in beane's eyes.

I would assume you are talking about those in the batrack not those who swing and miss with them.
