Having always been critical of a potential Midwest and east coast bias by Joe Buck, I was impressed by his calls of Morse's and Ishikawa's homeruns. In fact, I liked his calls over Jon Miller's call. Even felt that Ishikawa's homerun call by Miller was a little overwhelming for him. I would have rather heard Kuiper's call. Grateful never the less.

At this point, nothing can save Buck in my eyes. That whole series, he was absolutely ridiculous and I got really fed up with him.

Lol I agree 100%. I was thinking about muting the t.v. and putting on knbr, but the delay messed that up.

Yeah. I have tried that before. Even pausing one to try and get it synced and then I pause too long so I pause the other and can't get it just right. Too much work.

Buck's call was so much better than Miller's.... If we are fortunate enough to get a chance to close this out.... I want Kuiper in the ninth....

I totally agree. I don't usually care that much about how an announcer makes a call, but I think Miller's could have been better. The emphasis is not on the fact the Giants won the Pennant, but it's merely that they won a ball game, then as an after-thought, oh yeah, they won the pennant too!
.."and that's a home run!................for the game........................................................... and for the pennant....

Did anyone else pick up on Buck's subtle sourgraping in game 1 during Ishikawa's first at-bat?
He said something along the lines of "he hit the game winning homerun in the NLCS, and Ishikawa's first hit is a clinker."
It really came off sarcastically, but in a subtle way.

I know I'm obviously late to this thread since I just joined the forum, but yeah man I was thinking the same thing. I actually laughed when I heard the replay and heard Jon Miller. It was like he forgot the situation for a second and didn't know what to say in between "Home run.................for the game." That part made me laugh. I wasn't too thrilled with any of his calls really, no offense to him. He is a good broadcaster but I much prefer Duane Kuiper. In fact, every time I would listen to the midnight replay it seemed like Kuiper hardly called many innings at all. I wonder what was up with that? Jon Miller's call of the final out of the WS was pretty lackluster too...
