I keep hearing talk on the MLB network about Sergio Romo not being "closer material." I guess it's because he doesn't throw 98 mph.
I just have to disagree here; he can (and does) get outs without throwing 98 mph. After all, getting outs in the final inning is what is most important for a closer, and Romo has done that since he has assumed closer responsibility for the Giants. He did a good job at the end of the regular season last year and through the NL playoffs and WS.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
