BEAT LA. BEAT LA. BEAT LA
The Giants have won five of nine meetings between these teams this year, and are 7-2 at home against the Dodgers since the 2010 All-Star break.
San Francisco picked up its MLB-high 26th one-run win yesterday versus the Padres, 4-3. The Giants also have the majors' best winning percentage in one-run contests (26-12, .684).
The Dodgers haven't had more than eight hits in a game since July 1 against the Angels. They are batting .184 as a team over the 12 games since then.
Matt Kemp is the only MLB player with at least 20 homers and 20 steals this season (24 HR, 27 SB). He's hitting .370 (10/27) in nine games versus the Giants this year.
Chad Billingsley is 3-1 with a 1.32 ERA over his last four starts. For the season he has a 5.37 ERA on the road, however, compared to 2.43 at home.
Pablo Sandoval has reached base safely via hit, walk, or hit by pitch in 25 straight games, the longest active streak in the NL.

Notes Applicable For Series Dates: 7/18/2011 thru 7/20/2011
yeah, kemp's been a killer against us this year...gotta pitch him carefully

billingsley always seem to to have a tough time on the road, and i can recall a couple times the G's have roughed him up at AT&T

glad Vogelsong is starting the series opener...not sure why...just a good vibe

hope we stay creative as well as aggressive on the basepaths...squeeze plays, double steals, straight up steals, all of the above...its exciting to watch, and can prove to be very effective.

the key is getting men on base...lay off the bad pitches, work the count in our favor, work walks, bust a s s and beat out could-be infield hits...

maintain a solid approach at the plate w/ risp...work the count, foul off tough pitches, get count leverage and wait for our pitch...oh and a BB is just as good as a hit

But how long. I think Vogelstrong is at the minimum number of innings to qualify. He has to have pitched one inning for every team game played. Going in to yesterday's game he was under by 5. after the game he was over by 1.3 innings. So by his next game he wont be the 'Official' leader until the 4th inning.
