Ya Dunn would lead the team in walks and K's by 50, HR's by 9, and RBI's by 10

Just some notes on the great Freddy Sanchez that so many people seem to want for the Giants. He is a decent player... just not what the Giants need to jump start them or give them any kind of spark going forward.
"Sanchez has three extra-base hits and one RBI in the month of July, a span covering 49 at-bats. Sanchez is in the midst of a 3-for-26 slump. He's made some fine defensive plays but also a few head scratchers. It doesn't appear that anything is physically wrong with the Pirates second baseman, though talks of an on-again, off-again contract extension or trade could be distracting him. History suggests that Sanchez will turn things around once again."

His line of .268 .401 .542 .943 is great plus hes got 24 HR, 63 RBI and 73 walks. A legit clean up hitter is worth a few dropped pop flies and he would look sweet hitting 4th between Pablo and Bengie.
he wouldve looked great in our lineup since April for the same price...
for whatever reason, Sabean decided "hey, we need a bat, but im too cheap to spend big. oh look, its Adam Dunn, a power bat whos getting overlooked, fits our 1B need perfectly, and isnt asking for much money at all........NAAAAAAAHHH lets roll with Ishikawa and Rich Aurilia for half a season, then deal some prospects for Dunn later."

That would be nice. He would be a perfect fit.

Talkin' Giants Baseball
By Drew Silva [July 26, 2009 at 7:53pm CST]
As we cruise closer to the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, the Giants still boast one of baseball's most intriguing situations. The club is 52-46 -- 10 games behind the Dodgers in the National League West, but just two games back in the Wild Card. Most experts agree they need a bat to continue contending, and they've been linked recently to sluggers like Victor Martinez, Ryan Garko and Nick Johnson.
Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle recently heard "word from [Giants] general manager Brian Sabean that chances for a deal are 50-50."
"We're talking," manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday as his club prepared to head home after a long road trip. "I'll talk to Brian. I'll discuss it with the staff on the plane on the way back and see what we can do to get this thing going again."
Schulman believes the Giants might also have interest in Toronto's Marco Scutaro or Baltimore's Aubrey Huff. Either way, it's pretty clear what San Francisco is seeking as Friday's deadline nears: offense.

Cliff Lee is only the 1st Domino.
Could be many deals coming today.
Cliff Lee - S - Cleveland Indians Takos (Active) Wednesday Jul. 29, 2009
Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Phillies have reached agreement on a deal to acquire Cliff Lee from the Indians.
Assuming there are no snags in the pending review of medical records, the Indians would acquire Single-A right-hander Jason Knapp, Triple-A right-hander Carlos Carrasco, shortstop Jason Donald and catcher Lou Marson in exchange for Lee and outfielder Ben Francisco. Lee's ERA and WHIP could take a slight hit in the move to hitting-friendly Philadelphia, but any losses in those categories would be offset by increased win potential for the left-hander, who is 7-9 with a 3.14 ERA on the season.
