Though he faces misdemeanor charges in the state, it is unlikely he will receive any punishment from Major League Baseball.
The 2008 Cy Young Award winner was stopped for speeding at 8:23 a.m. on Oct. 30 while driving on Interstate 5, 4 miles north of the Oregon state line, according to Trooper Steve Schatzel of the Washington State Patrol. Lincecum was cited for driving 74 mph in a 60-mph zone.

Couldn't help see the irony in the Tim Lincecum pot bust being front of the Chronicle sports section this morning,
Seems it happened almost a week ago so it looks like they released it yesterday to bury it as much as possible under the radar during the big news day.
The club hasn't even issued a response so one wonders just exactly how they will handle the matter in the media. Lightly I suppose. I doubt they will hold it against him in business negotiations either, but for someone considered by most as the "face of the franchise" I'm sure there will be some clause against future embarassing moments included in talks upcoming.
It will have ramifications in the Cy Young balloting, and any endorsement deals in the "pipeline' may have "vaporized" for the forseeable future. It's a shame, but Michael Phelps had to learn the hard way as well.
Luckily he wasn't determined to be "impaired" or there would have been far more severe consequences.
Evidently there was a few other details reported in other venues including the numerous fast food wrappers also revealed during the examination of the vehicle. Certainly a few parents of impressionable poster hanging youngsters will have some "splainin' " to do over just how great atheltes go about their diet and training regamins.
And remeber kiddies most marijuana possesion busts happen in vehicles.
