Giants announce tentative 2010 regular season schedule
The San Francisco Giants will kick off their 2010 campaign with a three-game series at Houston on Monday, April 5, the club announced today. It will be the seventh time since 2000 that the club has opened the season on the road. The Giants also announced the entirety of their 2010 regular season schedule, which includes the 15 remaining National League clubs, a pair of three-game sets against the Boston Red Sox (June 25-27) and Baltimore Orioles (June 14-16), their first visit to Toronto since 2002 (June 18-20) and their annual home and home series versus cross-Bay Oakland.
Following the Giants opening set in Houston, they will return to the Shores of McCovey Cove for their home opener against the Atlanta Braves on Friday, April 9. San Francisco plays the Braves and Pittsburgh Pirates on the initial homestand.
With Major League Baseball embarking upon its 10th season of an unbalanced schedule format, the Giants will play 18 games against each of their four National League West rivals -- Arizona, Colorado, Los Angeles and San Diego.
