The Garko deal isn't looking any better. Bichy refuses to play him for some strange reason. He also has some sort of man crush on Randy Winn.

Very frustrating...the Phils take 2 of 3 without Cliff Lee...and even though their offense was ineffective against Lincecum, they still get the timely hit to get the win.

I can understand not playing Garko. I can't understand not playing Nate. Granted Winn's steal of second was nice but the rest of the game he did nothing.

first of all schierholtz should be starting everyday. randy winn does not have any upside over him at this point in their careers. i also feel it is smart to play ishikawa, garko is not doing anything with the bat and even though ishikawa isnt either ishikawa is a gold glove caliber fielder.
my only question is why doesn't bochy ever bunt in prime bunting scenarios. tonight is one example of many when they could have taken the lead for lincecum. the job of the lead off hitter is to get on base, the job of the 2nd hitter is to advance the runner, and the job of the 3-5 hitters is to bring in the runners. when velez hits a leadoff double, renteria should have been bunting the entire way. the bunt would have moved velez over to third. this would then allowed sandoval or molina to bring him in giving the giants the lead. i have never seen a team get so many opportunities and fail to score runners because they don't know how to advance runners. with our lineup we should be playing small ball the entire game. i guarantee more victories if bochy and the selfish players realize this.
