Lincecum's start pushed back a day

Not so sure this is a wise move considering there's only one month of baseball left to play. Now instead of skipping our 5th starter (as the day off permitted) we're going to have to fish for some random guy to step in.

Again, why does Lincecum need extra rest? Because he had 124 pitches in the last game? ... ... mmmkay

Lets hope this doesn't cost us a game.
link? and maybe he needs an extra day rest

im ok with that

I'm more in favor of him having as many starts as possible for the rest of the year...

I think its much more important to have a fresh and healthy Timmy than one that is worn down and maybe can go 6 innings. Lincecum is the franchise and its always better to error on the cautious side.
Personally I think it makes ZERO difference. I think it's just for piece of mind. Having your normal rest is fine...what makes this situation any different? We're not talking about Jamie Moyer here. Moreover, it's not like he's getting less rest...it's the normal 4 days off...

Like I said, hopefully this doesn't cost us a game.

Coming off a pitch count that high makes a huge difference especially with someone like Timmy who isnt that big. I'm sure Timmy had input as to how he feels and whether he should be pushed back a day. Again.. I would rather have the team be cautious with our franchise player than blow them out like happened to Prior and Wood in Chicago.

And I've noticed that his velocity has been down in the last three starts. Timmy didnt admit it so, but this may be fatigue finally affecting him. As much as I would love him to start on his regualr rotation, its a smart move. One of the few by Bochy.

LOL.. I'm sure that Bochy will be happy that you gave him your seal of approval.
