Is it too early to say this is a make or break series for SF?

7 games over the next 10 with Colorado. But we need to go 3-1 in this series just to catch them. Tough thing to do in Denver. If we go 2-2 we gain no ground. If we lose this series we are in trouble. This is a make or break series for us.

I agree... 3-1 is a lot to ask of the Giants especially on the road, but that would make a huge difference in the NL Wild Card race. But I would consider 2-2 just dragging out the inevitable (not making the playoffs). The Giants need to gain at least one game here and most importantly leave with some confidence and swagger (the most over used term in sports today!)
Hopefully we'll sweep and the Giants will start off on a 32-8 run going into the play offs. Ha, a boy can dream can't he.

Great start. Sanchez's pitch count = bullpen is gonna be needed tonight for some big innings.

Good game so far for us. Hopefully the bullpen comes through and we get the win and tomorrow we go out and get another win.

Sanchez was throwing FLAMES tonight. That was impressive. And it'd be nice if Rowand (or anyone) got going.
No doubt man, let's go for the sweep. Tomorrow is big -- if we can pull that off with Lincecum/Zito coming up, it'd be a huge boost.

have to take 3 of 4 period! game 1 done....still can't get over the trades considering Garko has won us 1 game and Sanchez continues to be damaged goods! F'ing retarded! we didn't need the playoffs this year to consider it a great year, just Bochy and Sabean........and they aren't going to bring up Posey!!!
F'ing joke! Posey can't match what Whiteside is doing. Get rid of these morons now!!!!!!!!

It was reported that when Sheffield was put on waivers, we claimed him. but then he was withdrawn. Our problem now with waiverwire deals is if it is an American Leaguer we are something like the 28th team that can put a claim in. If a National leagueer then we are 10th or so. Worst records first. We are too good for our own good this year for the waiver wire.

Interesting about claiming Sheffield. Wonder what the plan would have been in the OF with Sheff, Rowand, Winn, Schierholtz, and Velez.
