5:51pm: Kovacevic is reporting that the minor leaguer is AA pitcher Tim Alderson. This is an impressive haul for Sanchez--Alderson was ranked the #4 prospect in the Giants' system by Baseball America. What we thought was a salary dump has turned into a coup for the Pirates.

If they are paying some money for him next year or if they have a new deal in place which spreads out a more reasonable number over 2-3 years it may not be a horrible as it seems.

I have been pumping Velez and dissing Freddie so you no where I stand about him.

I think he obviously overpaid again if all of the 8 mil is ours.

Give 'em enough rope and he'll hang himself is the cliche.
